The Society recently held its 135th annual meeting, and from its annual re- port we summarize the following data: An increase of more than 25 per cent in the distribution of the Scriptures over the previous year was reported at the 135th annual meeting of the American Bible Society, held in Bible House, New York City, on May 10. The circu- lation for 1950 at home and abroad was 11,056,584 copies in! 184 different languages and dia- lects. During 1950, the Bible Soc-; iety passed the 400,000,000 mark in its total distribution of the Scriptures for the 135 years since the founding of the Society. A new record was also made by the distribution of embossed vol- umes and Talking Book Records for the blind, surpassing the pre- vious year by more than 50 per cent. with a total of 28,110. The work for the blind is done by the Bible Society in thirty-four dif- ferent languages and systems. I/.N.
