Preserving Foliage
The beauty of autumn foliage
can be preserved for winter bou-
quets. If you want to preserve a
fresh spray of colorful leaves, lay
ihem flat as possible on an old
newspaper and apply a thin coat
of fresh white shellac, making sure
to cover the stems where they join
the heavier twig. Allow to dry

Good-quality fresh p e p p e r s,
whether the sweet type or the hot
type, should be fresh-looking, firm,

A hearty sandwich filling can be
made from a combination of
chopped cooked meat, green pep-
pers sweet pickles, horseradish,
and prepared mustard.

To brighten ebony, apply olive
oil with a piece of flannel and
polish with chamois.

salads. Here are a few: Brass
will keep bright longer and need
polishing less often if it is rubbed
with olive oil after polishing.
Sprinkle the oil lightly on a piece
of warm flannel and rub well into
the brass.

linoleum? Mix a paste of finely
chopped cork and shellac. Allow
the paste to harden in the hole.
Then sandpaper smooth and touch
up with paint to match color of tht,
