David and Florence Price, of David Price Jeweler, are lending their support to the Lake Almanor
Elks Lodge Christmas Angel Program by maintaining a food contribution barrel in their business.
Chairperson Kay Alcorn said, "The increased need of families within our communities has
required us to seek additional assistance this year." She said the program would serve 21 families
and 38 children in the communities of Chester, Westwood and Greenville this season. While the

States have launched their an-
nual "Help Fight Hunger for
the Holidays" campaign.
The Help Fight Hunger
campaign is designed to
leverage IGA's national
"Hometown Heroes" pro-
gram by encouraging shop-
pers to support their local
food pantries.
Nutritious food items in the
bags include apple juice, pas-
ta, spaghetti sauce, macaroni

and cheese, canned vegeta-
bles, seasonings and cereal.
The convenience and gro-
cery-matching feature of this
campaign enabled stores to
generate more than 18 tons of
groceries for local food banks
in 2010.
The retailers hope to ex-
ceed that amount of support
this year. The IGA Help
Fight Hunger campaign runs
through Sunday, Dec. 20.
