t 4A Wednesday, Nov. 9,.2011 India n Valley Record I. PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE A few days ago we sent the "Indian Valley Schools/Educational Questionnaire" home with students. The purpose of the questionnaire is to determine what the residents of Indian Valley want for their children. The questionnaire is the product of concerned local citizens - not the school district. Please take a moment and complete the questionnaire at your first opportunity and return it to school. If you did not receive a copy, give us a call and we can send another home with your student. You may also contact Wendy Weight at 588-5768 or Jonathan Kusel at 284- 1006. DG COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEES The Plumas Unified School district School Board is in the process of forming Local Community Advisory Corhmittees to have each community (Quincy, Indian Valley, Chester and Portola) involved before decisions are made about school closure or the use of surplus space, thus avoiding community conflict and ensuring compatible building use as referenced in education code 17387. The Primary pur- pose of each community committee is to meet over the course of six to eight weeks to examine the Facility Adviso- ry Committee and District Administration recommenda- tions. The committees will develop a process and criteria on how to deal with consolidation/closure issues. The gov- erning board will establish timelines for progress reports and make the final decision regarding consolida- tion/closure of schools. Public input is welcome at the No- vember 8, 2011, Board meeting at the Greenville High School Library. If interested, please submit a letter of interest to Executive Assistant Patty McCutcheon, Superintendent's Office, 50 Church Street, Quincy, detailing how your person- al/professional experience would be beneficial to the School Board. Deadline for consideration is Friday, No- vember 18th at 3:00 pro. The school board will formally establish the various Com- munity Advisory Committees during the November board meeting. Appointments to the Committees will be made by the board, during the December board meeting.
