mum training activity against a

of the Civil Air Patrol to make
continuous strikes in the desig-
nated areas.
In addition to CAP planes, ap-
oroximately 125 planes of the
Navy Air Reserve Air Force. Air
Training Command and the Cal-
fornia Air National Guard will fly
utrike missions during the day.
Western Air Defense Force of-
ficers in charge of the exercise
estimate that every one of the 300

flights between every 30 to 45
minutes at the very minimum.
Many posts will be required to
handle considerably more.
The two areas involved are:
Northern California--all or'part

terey County on the south and ex-
tendng eastward to the upper

Southern California all or part
of five counties between the

County and the Mexican Border

The plane spotting reports from
approximately 10,000 Ground Ob-
erers, including in addition to
regular civilian colunteers. Forest
Ranger and Coast Guard tlnits,

land and Santa Ann.
The Filter Ceners, which axe
