Bulletin, Progressive, Record, Reporter Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 BC COUNTRY GOL GOLF RESULTS Bailey Creek Wednesday, Aug. 31, there were 12 guests from Dia- mond Mountain Golf Club in Susanville who played with the Bailey Creek Women's Club. The game was "Eenie-Meenie." The highlight of the day was the hole in one by Giovanna Zinn from Diamond Moun- tain on No. 131 Way to go, Giovanna. Closest to the pin on hole No. 8 was 7 feet, 1 inch by Wynnetta Regli and she also birdied the hole. Julie Azevedo came in first place with a 69. Second place went to Shirley Friedrichs with a 74 and third place to Adrienne Fa- galde with a 75. Julie Azevedo had a chip- in on No. 1. Adrienne Fa- galde had a chip-in on No. 2. And, Julie Azevedo had a chip-in/birdie on No. 12. Surprise, Julie Azevedo won low putts today also, with a 28. Great playing today, ladies. Huff Wednesday Morning Scramble The weeks of summer are flying by, the weather has been superb and the golfers are having a great time at the Mr. Huff Wednesday Morning Scramble on Aug. 31. An excellent turnout gave us three placing teams. In first place was the team of Don Sheffield, Darel Joseph and David Smuts. Second place team mem- bers were Don McConnell, Jack Thatcher, Jerry Quam and Gary McClellan. Rounding out the winning teams in third place were Norm Miller, Jerry Hobbs, Gary Hughes and Dick Grace. Chip-in was won by David Smuts. Closest to the pin honor was taken by Dick Grace. Plumas Pines Women's Golf Club, Aug. 30 Today was the August Qualifier for Captain's Cup for the playoffs in Septem- ber. Janie Grosman took low- est gross over the field. Jan Talbott took lowest net over the field. The eight Captain's Cup qualifiers for the September tournament are Renee Walker, Connie Raheb, Janet Holiaday, Scooter Kidwell, Annie Meyer, Lor- raine Cornish, Janie Gros- man and Jan Talbott. Good going, ladies. Results for the "rest of the field": First flight: Renee Walk- er, low gross (85); Scooter Kidwell, low net (78). Second flight: Beverly Do- nato, low gross; Mary Blay- lock, low net; and Lorraine Cornish, second low net. Jennifer Zumbro wins the low putts for the day. Mt. Huff Thursday Night Scramble Thursday, Sept. 1, a beau- tiful evening for our "nine and dine" scramble. We fielded eight fool teams with a very close ending. Three teams came in at 5 under and after a chip off between, David Smuts, Jeff Smith and Greg Stevens, the tea of David Smuts, Barbara and Jerry Quam, and Gary Mc- Clellan came in first, Richard Mauldin, Paul Ea- gan, Paris Moore and Greg Stevens came in second, while Jeff Smith, Leaf Van Pelt, Auston Linford and Don Guess came in third. Mike Ruggeri had the longest drive and Jimmy LaPlante placed it closest to the pin. We will be having our scrambles at least through September, with scrump- tious dinners to follow. All are invited.
