GREENVILLE NIMRODS
FORM NEW GUN CLUB
Quail, ducks, geese and pheasant
of the Susanville area are due for
some excitement, with the forma-
tion of the Green Head Duck
Club, made up of Indian Valley
men.
The club, headed by Carl Furrer
and with Ernie Waiters as secre-
tary, headquarters at the Toscani
ranch, 15 miles east of Susnville.
The area contains two lakes and
the Susan river, and is heavily
stocked with game brds.
Membership in the club consists
of Doc Batson, Art Sorsoli, Quen-
tin Philpott, Frank Sobrero, Aids
Sorsoli, Chester Toscani, Ernie
Toseani and Albert Toscani.
California's black bear popula-
tion is estimated at about 16,000
animals.

MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 1951
AT 10 O'CLOCK A.M.
August 7, 1951
We, the undersigned members of
the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Plumas, State of Cali-
fornia, hereby request that a spe-
cial meeting of said Board be
called for Monday, August 20th,
1951 at 10 o'clock A.M., for the
following purposes:
1. Final Budget Hearing
2. Road Matters
E. J. Humphrey, Chairman
A. C. Donnenwirth
J. C. Cloman
C. E. ]lackman
James F. Flanagan
The roll is called and there are
present: Supervisors A. C. Don-
nenwirth, J. F. Flanagan, C. E.
Black•an, J.C. Cloman and
Chairman E. J. Humphrey.
The Board commences with the
study of the hearing on the Pre-
liminary Budget of Plumas Coun-
ty for the 1951-52 fiscal year.
At the request of W. S. Quig-
let of the Plumas County Tax-
payer's Association, a motion is
made by Supervisor Donnenwirth,
seconded by Supervisor Black-
man, that the sum of $400.00 be
added to the budget of the Board
of Supervisors, same being for
appraisal work that was ordered
done by Marshall and Stevens.
Carried and so ordered.
Out to a change in personnel,
a motion is made by Supervisor
Cloman, seconded by Supervisor
Blackman, that the item for Of-
fice Deputies within the budget
of County Clerk and Auditor be
reduced from $11,931.00 to $11,-
285.00. Carried and so ordered.
Motion made by Supervisor
Cloman, seconded by Supervisor
lanagan, that within the budget
for the Planning Commission the
word "Consultant" be changed to
'Surveys". Carried and so or-
dered.
At the request of Leland H.
ohnson, and in accordance with
he provisions of Salary Ordin-
ance No. 290, a motion is made
by upervisor Flanagan, second-
ed by Supervisor Cloman, that

Nurse be decreased from $3,204.-
0 to $1,602.00, since a Jr. Public
Health Nurse is not employed at

ordered.

or Donnenwirth, that within the
budget for the Chester Airport
$1,500 be transferred from Con-
struction of Field to salary for
Airport Manager. Carried and so
rdered.
At the request of George Trosi,
: motion is made by Supervisor
Donnenwirth, seconded by Super-
visor Blackman, that a one cent
tax be levied each year for re-
:reational purposes, and that dis-
position of this money be left up
to the Planning Commission in
conjunction with the Board of
Supervisors, and that no Super-
visorial District be the recipient
of this money more than once in
five years unless one or more
Supervisorial Districts relinquish
their funds. Carried and so or-
dered.

vices be increased from $4,130.00
to $4,850.00. Carried and so or-
dered.
Motion made by Supervisor
Cloman, that within the Welfare
& Institutions budget $2,000.00 be
deleted from the item Medical
and Dental care. Motion lost for
lack of a second.
Upon the written request of
Anne Watson, Probation Officer,
a motion is made by Supervisor
Donnenwirth, seconded by Super-
visor Flanagan, that within the
Juvenile Hall budget Subsistence

D. N. Rogers, a motion is made
by Supervisor Cloman, seconded
by Supervisor Flanagan, that
within the budget for Gansner
Airfield, $205.00 be transferred
from General Construction to an
item for Insurance. Carried and
so ordered.
Motion made by Supervisor
Donnenwirth, seconded by Super-
visor Flanagan, that within the
budget for the Beckwourth Air-
port, $205.00 be transferred from
Construction of Field to an item
for Insurance. Carried and so or-
dered.
Motion made by Supervisor
Blackman, seconded by Supervis-
or Donnenwirth, that within the
budget for Chester Airport, $205.-
00 be transfer from Construction
of Field to an item for Insurance.
Carried and so ordered.
Motion made by Supervisor
Donnenwirth, seconded by Super-
visor Flanagan, that within the
budget for Library Service, the
item for salary for Librarian be
increased from $4,242 to $4,345.00,
same to conform to the salary now
to be paid in accordance with
Salary Ordinance No. 290. Car-
ried and so ordered.
An attempt was made at the
Preliminary Budget hearing, and
an attempt is again made by the
Board to contact Judge Wm. H.
Macmillan concerning the Super-
ior Court budget, but since Judge
Macmillan has been out of town
at the time of both hearings, a
motion is made by Supervisor
Donnenwirth, seconded by Super-
visor Cloman, that the item of
$2,148.00 for Stenoghaphic Help
in the Superior Court budget be
deleted. Carried and so ordered.
Motion made by Supervisor
Blackman, seconded by Supervis-
or Donnenwirth, that the Unap-
propriated Reserve of the County
be increased to $40,000. AYES.
