GOLF RESULTS
LACC Women's Golf Club
On Aug. 2, the country
club ladies played the game
of Low Net and Putts fol-
lowed by the monthly gener-
al membership meeting and
luncheon at the clubhouse.
In the first flight, there was
a three-way tie for first
place among Madeline Fur-
man, Trudy Leete and Mar:
cia Spooner with scores of
70. Mary Ann Broderick and
Jessie King tied for fourth
place with scores of 71.
In the second flight, Lee
Hunter and Martha Vlahos
tied for first place, scoring
73. Kathy Fuller and Karen
Schmidt tied for third place
with scores of 74.
In the third flight, Jan
Reese placed first with 73.
Madeleine Protsman came
in second with a score of 74.
Joan Johnson was third
with 75. Peggy Lentz placed
fourth with a score of 77.
Kathy Chuchel had 27
putts winning the monthly
putting contest. Birdies
were scored by Mary Craig
on hole No. 8, Carolyn
Lowrey on hole No. 8 and
Jessie King on hole No. 17.
Chip-ins were had by Kathy
Fuller on hole No. 1, Nancy
Foote on hole No. 4, Carolyn
Lowerey on hole No. 8 and
Jan Reese on hole No. 12.

There is a correction to
the scores reported for the
Dice Game played July 26.
Tied for first place was the
team of Mary Craig, Joyce
Gronroos (guest), Claudine
Gurney and Joan Johnson
and the team of Kathy
Fuller, Janet Hancock, Peg-
gy Lentz and Janice Vort-
mann. Both teams scored
135. The team of Kathy
Chuchel, Amanda Hosman,
Evelyn Rodriguez and Jessie
King (blind draw) came in
third place with a score of
136. Sorry for the reporting
• error. Genny Davis had the
only chip-in, on hole No. 5.
Mt. Huff Wednesday
Morning Scramble
What great weather we
have in Indian Valley! And
that great weather brought
out a drove of golfers for the
Wednesday Morning Scram-
ble at Mt. Huff Golf Course
on Aug. 2.
Three teams scored in the
competition. In first place
was the team of Loren Lind-
ner, Todd Posch, Don
Sheffield and Jack Thatcher.
Second place honors went
to the team of Bob Clark,
Norm Miller, David Smuts
and Dick Grace.
Third place, qualifiers
were Mike Ingle, Jerry
Quam and Barbara Quam.
Closest to the pin was won
by Don Sheffield.
The three winners in the
chip-in contest were Loren
Lindner, Jack Thatcher and
Mike Ingle.

Women's Golf Club
The first week of August
already, time sure flies
when you are having fun,
That saying is so true. We
had 12 members Aug. 4; our
game was Low Net and Low
Putts and our weather was
fantastic. We played in two
flights.
The first flight winners
were first place: Julie
Azevedo with a net 69,
second place: Karen Nelson
with a net 69. The second
flight winners were
first place: Shirley
Friedrichs with a net 71,
second place: Judy Cooper
with a net 73.
We also had three birdies
that day, Kathi Shennan on
No. 7, Julie Azevedo on No.
15, Sally Weller on No. 16.
Our low putts winner was
Sally Weller with 29 putts.
Great shooting, Sally.
Also a welcome back to
Sally and Janice Nelson,
slowly we are getting bigger.
Our golf tournament is
Aug. 18. It is open to all the
ladies around the lake, price
is $75 for non-members in-
cluding golf and $50 plus
golf for members. This
includes continental break-
fast, lunch and great prizes.
We have 11 foursomes so
far, but you still have time
to sign up.
