Guests were numerous the past
few weeks at Anderson's Last Re-
sort.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl McCown and
family from Benecia spent a few
days visiting the Dave Ander-
sons. William Baker of Vallejo
and Jack Heinz of San Francis-
:o visited at Anderson's Last Re-
sore. Mr. and Mrs• George Heat-
ley of Hayward spent last week
end visiting the Andersons. Mr.
and Mrs. L• H. Walker have re-
turned to Vallejo after spending
wo weeks at Anderson's Last Re-
sort. Frances Cotter and Larry
Olsen spent wo days visiting the
Andersons last week. Mr. Grover

Lake Tahoe resorts spent a couple
of days visiting at the D. J. An-
dersons summer home in Hawn's

WOMAN'S CLUB MEETS
The Young Woman's Club met
July 23 in the home of Margaret
DeHahn, at which time President
Elaine McLain appointed commit-
tee chairmen for the dance, but
the date was not decided on due
to conflict of other activities. "
The members voted to hold their
annual picnic at Lake Almanor on
Sunday, August 26. After the busi-
ness session was concluded the
I I meeting was adjourned.
While the 8 members and thre
guests waited for the hostess to
serve refreshments they were en-
tertained by Jerry Bacher, who
read "The Morale Builder," an ar-
ticle filled with laughs as well as
of food for thought. I

Col. Miller's mother, Mrs. Mar-

two small sons. Buddy and Billy,

VETS HOSPITAL SEEKING
VOLUNTEERS TO AID
BLOOD RESERVE
C. J. Gallup, Plumas County
Veterans' Service Officer, has re-
ceived word from the Veterans
Administration hospital at RenD,
Nevada, requesting blood donors
to replace blod used by veterans
at that facility.
Records in Gallup's office show
that over fifty veterans from
Plumas County have received
medical attention and hospitaliza-
tion at that facility during this
year. Any person desiring to do-
nate blood may do so any day of
the week from Monday through
Friday between 8 :'30 a.m. and 4:30
p•m., at the hospital at 1000 Lo-
cust Street in RenD. If six or more
donors intend to go, arrangements
can be made through his office
for appointmnet on any Saturday
morning•
At the present time, Gallup stat-
ed, one veteran from Quincy has
received four transfusions since
July 20, and several more will be
needed before his complete re-
covery. This veteran, Claude A.
Langley, works for Dupont and
Buus, here in Quincy, and is re-
covering from a major operation.
