Women's Golf Club
The Graeagle Meadows
Women's Golf Club had
their monthly Ace of Aces
competition this week. The
winner for low gross was
Kathy Sipel. JoAnn Lake
won for low net. In the first
flight Priscilla Piper had
low gross. The winner of
first place low net was Bey
Reynolds with Wanda
Wideriksen taking second
and Debbie Peteron coming
in third.

gross in the second flighL
The winner of first place
low net was Ellen Fearing.
There was a tie for second
place between Annie Fisch-
er and Carol Desmond.
Cathy Churchill, Bev
Reynolds, Holly Anderson,
Linda Bilger and Carol
Desmond all had chip-ins.
LACC Women's
Golf Club
On July 5, the women hit
the links vcith only three
clubs and a putter in their
golf bags. There was little
waiting trying to decide
which club to use! The field
was divided into three
flights, and the golfers were
allowed to deduct their full
handicaps to determine
game scores.
In the first flight, Jessie
King placed first with a
score of 72. Mary Craig and
Pat Quinn tied for second
place with scores of 75.
In the second flight
Martha Vlahos came in first
place with a score of 72,
Maggie Fleming placed sec-
ond with a 79 and Karen
Schmidt took third place
with a score of 80.
The third flight saw some
very close competition with
Nancy Foote coming in first
with a score of 75, and Eve-
lyn Rodriguez and Jean
Rolls tying for second place
with 76s.
Darlene Donaldson had a
birdie on hole No. 8. Chip-
ins were had by Carol
Parish on hole No. 3, Jessie
King on hole No. 8 and Jan
Stillwell on hole No. 16. Who
needs to play with all those
clubs anyway! Nice going,
ladies.
Lake Almanor Women's
Golf Club
Time seems to go by so
fast -- the frst week of July
has already passed. Our la-
dy golfers were burning up
the course July 7. We had 12
members and one guest to-
day playing in three flights.
Our game was Low Net &
Low Putts.
First flight winners were
first place, Julie Azevedo
with a 71 net; and second
place, Kathi Shennan, also

with a 71. The tie was bro-
ken wi.th the back nine
score.
Second flight winners
were first place, Shirley
Friedrichs with a 69; and
second place, Sharon Auge
with a 73.
Third flight winners were
first place, Linda Sant with
a 64 net; and second place,
Cindy Horne with a 70 net.
Low putts was won by
Shirley Friedrichs with 29
putts. Great job, Shilley.
We also had four birdies.
Cindy Horne and Linda
Sant both birdie hole No. 15,
Shirley Friedrichs birdie
No. 17 and Carolyn Super
did a birdie chip-in on No.
18.
And last but not least, we
had four ladies tie for the
chip-in pot. They were
Cindy Horne on No. 5,
Karen Nelson on No. 14,
Shirley Friedrichs on No. 16
and Carolyn Super for her
second one of the day with a
chip-in on No. 12.
Mt. Huff Golf
Another hot day, but the
golfers turned out for the
Mt. Huff Wednesday Morn-
ing Scramble.
First place honors were
taken by the team of Don
McConnell, Mike Ingle and
Darel Joseph.
Second place went to Dave
Smuts, Don Sheffield, Al
Brubaker and Leo Sorosins-
ki.
Don Sheffield won the
closest-to-the-pih competi-
tion.
There was no chip-in con-
test.
Mt. Huff
Thursday Scrambles
On the Thursday, July 1,
Scramble seven teams
showed for a lovely evening
of nine and dine. The team
of Ted and Mary Trafton,
Jeff Stevens and Bill
McRoberts took first place
and Margie and Darel
Joseph, Bob Clark and Steve
Ross came in second.
Joe Pogue had the longest
drive and Run Ridge came
closest to the pin. A great
dinner followed.
The Thursday July 8
Scramble brought out eight
teams. The team of Auston
Linford, Gary Metzdorf,
David Smuts and Zack Rus-
sell came in first at 6 under.
After a chip-off between Jeff
Stevens and Joe Pogue, the
team of Jeff Stevens, Mike
Taddei and Loren Lindner
came in second, and the
team of Joe Pogue, Bob
McIlroy, Run Ridge and Jim
Bryant came in third.
Darel Joseph placed in
closest-to-the-pin and Zach
Russell drove the green on
seven for the longest drive.
We again had a great din-
ner; next week's will be
lasagna. All are welcome for
golf and dinner or either
one. -
We will be having an "Oh
Lordy Blake Is Forty" tour-
nament July 17. Call for de-
tails.
The course is in terrific
shape, and a great time is
waiting for you. Hope to see
you soon.
Plumas Pines Golf Resort
On July 6, 58 players got
on the course at high noon
to compete in the 18th annu-
al Men's and Women's Mix-
er. It was a great playing
day, with everyone anxious
to get on the course in the
fun and competitive spirit.
This event was scheduled to
happen a week earlier, but,
again, the weather just did
not allow the "play" to be.
Thanks to the people who
organized this event and to
our Plumas Club staff.
Net scores only:
Flight one: first place, Jan
and Jim Talbott. 63, second
place, Cathy Cianciolo and
Paul Jeglum, 64; third place,
Renee and Larry Walker, 67.
Flight two: first place,
Jennifer and Run Zumbro,
66; second place, Diane
Trainor and Michael Sala,
71; third place, Sharon and
Run Rogers, 72; fourth place,
Lorraine Cornish and Jack
Cornish, 72.
Flight three: first place,
Kathy.and Randy Magliano,
67; second place, Sally and
Jack Heskett, 68; third
place, Mary and Doyle Blay-
lock, 69.
After the game play, the
Plumas Pines Men's Club

with appetizers from the
Women's Club. The evening
ended with rousing ap-
plause for the winners.
Whitehawk Ranch
Ladies Golf Club
It was "flag day" for the
Whitehawk Ladies Golf
Club. The game was to play
to par plus your handicap,
at which point you would
place your American flag on
the course. All but one of
the group made it the full 18
holes without losing her
flag! Ruth Marchetti was
our big chipdn winner. She
took home $25. Our newest
member, Sharon Russell,
had a hole-in-one on No. 16.
