Poison: In Quincy, a. caller re-
ported he intentionally drank
a can of lighter fluid. He was
requesting an ambulance.
Plumas District Hospital and
Quincy fire were paged and
responded. PDH said it would
notify the mental health
department.
Chest: In Quincy, a caller re-
ported a 90-year-old female
who was having difficulty
breathing and experiencing
chest pain. Quincy fire and
PDH were paged and re-
sponded.
Unknown malady: In
Greenville, a deputy reported
receiving information of a
medical aid request. Fire and
ambulance responded. Indian
Valley fire was paged.
Unknown malady: At Lake
Almanor, a caller reported a
61-year-old female who was
feeling very ill and vomiting
blood. The call was trans-
ferred to SIFC.
Heart: In Taylorsville, a
caller requested an ambu-
lance for a male who was
experiencing a .rapid heart
rate. The call was transferred
to South Lassen EMS. Indian
Valley fire was paged.

caller requested medical aid
for a male with respiratory
problems. The call was trans-

2-year-old who had a fish
bone stuck in his throat. PDH

caller reported a motorcycle

sponded.
Unknown malady: In
Chester, SIFC received cross
traffic of an unresponsive
female who was possibly
diabetic. SIFC sent fire and
medical units.
Unknown malady: In Portola,
a caller requested an ambu-
lance for his grandmother
who was awake but not
responsive. The call was
transferred to EPHC. Portola
fire was paged.
Seizure: In Graeagle, a caller
reported a person experienc-
ing a seizure. Graeagle fire
was paged. The information
was transferred to EPHC.

his mother who had fallen.

Head: In Portola, a caller
requested an'ambulance at a
boat dock for someone with a
head injury. The information
was transferred to EPHC.
Sierra Valley fire was paged.
The USFS said the injury
was the result of two boats
colliding.
Blood pressure: At Lake
Almanor, a caller requested
an ambulance for her hus-
band who was experiencing
high blood pressure. The call
was transferred to SIFC.
Pain: In Quincy, a caller
requested an ambulance
for herself because she was
experiencing abdominal
pain. The call was trans-
ferred to PDH. PDH and
Quincy fire were paged and
responded.
Fall: At Lake Almanor, a
caller reported a 2-year-old
was a victim of a fall and was
unresponsive. The child was
transported to the airport
and flown to Enloe hospital
in Chico.

person experiencing extreme

lance for his wife who was
experiencing abdominal
pain. The call was trans-

Fall: In Quincy, a caller re-
quested an ambulance for an
elderly female that had fallen
in the house. The call was
transferred to PDH. PDH and

responded.

Chester, a caller requested an
ambulance for a person who
had passed out. The call was

Thursday, July 7
Accident: At Canyon Dam,
medical attention was re-
quested for the subject of a
motorcycle accident. The
information was passed on
to the California Highway
Patrol. SLEMS was advised.
Greenville fire was paged and
responded.
Seizure: In Quincy, a caller
requested medical aid for a
male having a seizure. PDH
and Quincy fire were paged.
Explosion: In Chester, two
children and an adult were
reported to be injured after
an explosive device in a
coffee can was ignited. One of
the victims was transported
to Seneca. The USFS was
notified.

Wilburn failed to see the
Pontiac apprOaching and
allowed the left rear corner
of the Dodge to impact the
right side of the Pontiac, ac-
cording to the CHP report.
The pickup came to rest
blocking the northbound lane
of Buchanan Street near the
intersection with Main
Street. Wilburn moved the
Dodge back into its original
parking stall.
No injuries were sustained
by either party.
Lost control, July 1
At 8:30 p.m., a 16-year-old
boy, of Beckwourth, was
driving a 2003 Ford F-350 on
Highway 70 eastbound west
of Butterfly Valley Road at50
mph. As he was negotiating
the curvature of the roadway,
the right side tires of the
vehicle left the pavement
and traveled onto the dirt
shoulder. According to the
California Highway Patrol,
this caused the Ford to be
thrust out of control to the
right.
The driver countersteered
the vehicle left back into the
traffic lanes, but lost control
and the Ford traveled back to
the right and rotated 180 de-
grees. The front and driver
side of the Ford struck the
dirt embankment bordering
the south roadway edge of

Highway 70 and came to rest.
The driver was wearing his
safety belt and was unin-
jured. A witness immediately
called the CHP for agsistance.
The eastbound lane of
Highway 70 was temporarily
closed and traffic was di-
verted around the collision
as Quincy Tow responded to
tow the vehicle as it sus-
tained moderate damage and
was inoperable:
Hit and run, July 2
At 9:05 a.m., an unidenti-
fied driver was driving a
pickup westbound on High-
way 70 at an unknown speed
west of Maddalena Road. As
the road curved to the left,
the pickup continued straight
and went off the right side of
the road.
The CHP reports that the
pickup struck a barbed wire
fence, taking down approxi-
mately 160 feet of it. The
driver drpve the pickup back
onto the 'oadway and left the
scene heading west.
Broken back, July 2
At 11 a.n., Robert Diehl, 57,
of Reno, Was traveling south-
bound on La Porte Road
north of La Porte on a 2006
Harley Davidson motorcycle.
According to the CHP, Diehl
failed to negotiate a curve
in the roadway and subse-
quently struck the asphalt
curb on the west shoulde/
and was ejected from the
motorcycle.
Diehl was transported by
private party to Renown
Medical Center in Reno and
is currently being treated for
a brokeri back and multiple
abrasions over his body.
He was wearing a helmet.
ATV reliever, July 2
At 11:30 a.m, Donnie Fox,
68, of Carson City, Nev.. was
driving a 2000 model ATV
near the Middle Fork of the
Feather River in the Maybe
area.
Fox was driving on Forest
Service land in steep terrain.
H and his passenger got off
the ATV and'turned it to face
uphill. Fox got back on the
ATV and attempted to ride it
up the steep hill. The ATV
rolled over onto him, pinning
his right foot. Although Fox
and his passenger were able
to movethe ATV off of his
foot, he was unable to walk
due to a wound on his ankle.
According to the CHP re-
port, Fox crawled down the
hill to some trees near the
river. His passenger crawled
up the hill to get help, but
became disoriented and
followed a road that led down
to the river. A homeowner in
Gold Mountain heard the two
calling lfor help. Plumas
County Search and Rescue
responded and rescued the
couple.
Backing out, July 3
At 10 a.m., Ronald Schmitt,
21, of Reno, was attempting to
back out :of a parking space at
Spring Creek Campground
near Frenchman Lake in a
2000 Ford Ranger.
The pickup had a manual
transmission. Schmitt started
the engine, but it died. The
CHP reports that he allowed
the pickup to roll down an
embankment and hit a tree.
Schmitt was not wearing a
seat belt, but was not injured.
DUI U-turn, Juiy 3
At 5:05 p.m., James Trem-
blay, 31, of Portola, was
driving a 2003 Ford F-150
pickup eastbound on Lake
David Road.
Tremblay made a quick
U-turn at Altis Trail. While
making the U-turn, according
to the CHP, Tremblay placed
the Ford directly in the path
of Christopher Piccirilli, 41,
of Portola, who was traveling
eastbound in a 2006 Chevy
Silverado behind Tremblay.
Piccirilli attempted to stop,
but could not avoid colliding
with Tremblay.
Both drivers were wearing
seat bolts and neither reported
injuries. Upon further investi-
gation, Tremblay was found
to be under the influence of
alcohol and was arrested for
DUI.
Motorcycle on the
shoulder, July 7
At 11 a.m., Susan Dufva, 51,
of Reno, was traveling on a 2006
Yamaha V-Star motorcycle
northbound on Highway 89,
