TALK O' THE TOWN
By Our Rving Reporter
With his left foot well encased
in porcelain, Mack Scruggs is up
and around again, and back at the
light and power office. The month-
ly bills got out on time due to the
long hours and overdiligence of
Cece Mclntyre t.
Kenneth Hunter, who flew to
Gerber Frday night to meet his
wife and family and lost several
hours sleep due to a long-overdue
Southern Pacific train (they
should use W-P), is now fully re-
covered and back on the job.
Haven't been able to find out
just what Vadney did over the
week-end, but he left Friday on an
urgent business trip to the bay
area, returning Sunday night full
of insurance wisdom, statistics
and zest.
July the Fourth was, according
to the sheriff's office, a highly
uccessful occasion this year, no

ported, and only one jail book-
;ng made of record.
Just had a chat with Carl Elgin
of Oxnard-- almost a former
neighbor. He and Mrs. E. are

LASSEN SATURDAY
Lawrence Rilea, John Schwartz
and Herbert Savercool, members
of Greenville Boy Scout Troop 23,
returned to their homes Saturday
after spending two weeks at Camp
Lassen in Butte Meadows.
The boys all reported having a
wonderful time and are looking
forward to going again next year.
More than 200 boys from Northern
California were enrolled at the
camp, they said.
While there Herbert Savercool
advanced from the Tenderfoot
rank to that of Second Class Scout
and is now well on his way to
becoming a First Class Scout.
