Garden tour shows off edibles, inviting spaces
No garden is complete with-
out a few personal touches,
whether whimsical or folksy.
A small barn quilt adorns a
fence in Sally and Ray Nichol's
yard.
The Quincy Soroptimist "Mountain Blooms" garden tour Saturday, June 18, featured five gardens,
including Dave Frenzel's in East Quincy, which mixed herbs and vegetables among perennials.
Frenzel told visitors 50 percent of his yard was edible.
The Churchill yard opens onto the neighboring Wickman yard, with its spectacular water feature.
Although not officially on the tour, hosteSses invited tour guests to explore the adjacent space.
Additional open space :next to the churchill property added to the expansive feel.
The backyard farmstead
theme was repeated at the
Marchus' home, also in East
Quincy, which featured a
"Chick Inn" bird coop. The
Marchus family treated guests
to homemade lavender sugar
cookies -- yum.

home in the Bellamy Tract.
