The 14th annual Lake
Almanor Memorial Weekend
Craft Fair will take place this
Saturday and Sunday, May 28
- 29, in the Chester Park. The
Chester Park is located one
block off Main Street along
the banks of the North Fork
of the Feather River.
This will be the second
year the Rotary Club of
Chester has sponsored this
popular crafters' event.
Rotarian and event chair-
woman Cheri McIntire has
announced there will be a
few changes going into this
year's show, specifically the
hours of operation.
The craft fair will be open
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both
Saturday and Sunday.
The 2011 craft fair will
feature 50 booths of iuried,
handcrafted items.
Guests touring the booths
can expect to find pottery,
woodworking items, specialty
foods, jewelry, rugs, scented
soaps, quilts, photography
and many forms of fine
art.
McIntire said Rotary is
striving to recruit new and
different types of items for
each year's fairs. She said the
2011 show would feature
• three first-time vendors
as. well as the returning
favorites.
The Rotary Club of Chester
is confident that this year's
show will be the best ever,
not only for the vendors
but for craft fair enthusiasts
as well.
Proceeds from events
benefit the club's local
community service projects:
Chester Elementary School
sixth-grade Plumas to the
Pacific outdoor education

Drivers'
licenses
(lelayed
In October 2010, the Depart-
ment of Motor Vehicles began
issuing new state.of-the-art
driver licenses and identifica-
tion cards.
Due to a high volume of
applicants and quality con-
trol guidelines, the DMV has
encountered delays in the
processing of the new cards,
but hastaken steps to help
minimize the impact on the
daily lives of California
motorists and residents.
A Web link specifically
designed to provide cus-
tomers with regular updates
on the processing of their
driver licenses was launched
on the DMV's homepage
at DMV.ca.gov. The link,
located in the center of
the page, just above the "Im-
portant DMV Alerts" box,
provides an up-to-date status
on driver license and ID card
production, and also links
to a dedicated website that
contains more information
and contact information for
additional help.
Customers can call (800)
777-0133 or email the DMV at
LODDLIDSP@dmv.ca.gov for
further information.
