Savor the 'Taste of Plumas'
The fifth annual Taste of
Plumas is one of the most
anticipated events of the
season. It will be held Satur-
day, April 9, at the Plumas-
Sierra County Fairgrounds.
The tastings begin at 5:30
p.m.
The staff at Plumas Arts
reports that there are
more restaurants and more
wineries participating this
year than ever before. The
admission price remains at
the 2007 and 2008 levels.
The event is one of the pri-
mary fundraisers for Plumas
Arts, the region's most
active cultural programming

brings art programs to the
county schools and events
and performances to local
audiences; coordinates a
regional cultural events
calendaring system in print
and online at plumasarts.org;
works collaboratively with
numerous local organizations,
businesses and groups; hosts
Words & Music in three county
locations and a gallery of
regional artists in Quincy;
and manages the Town Hall
Theatre.
The event will include sam-
plings from all parts of
Plumas. Many restaurants,
caterers and food businesses
are signed up and ready to
go. In alphabetical order that
list currently includes: Alley

"The Taste" also hosts

State and beyond. Another
part of the event is a silent
auction with a festive selec-
tion of food, fine art and
travel.
Plumas Arts reports that
the Taste of Plumas has been
a sold-out event every year.
Based on the fact that atten-
dees offer rave reviews to
their friends and neighbors,
ticket sales are already very
impressive.
The presale price of admis-
sion, $30 for members of
Plumas Arts members or $35
for nonmembers, includes a
souvenir wine glass and the
opportunity to savor sam-
plings from these 20-plus
restaurants and culinary
businesses. Non-members
can become members with
their benefit ticket purchase
and commence their mem-
bership support and savings
with this initial investment.
Tickets are available at the
Plumas Arts Gallery at 372
Main St. in Quincy, by credit
card online at plumasarts.org
or by calling Plumas Arts at

not sold out, all tickets will
be $40.

now online
The Plumas County Re-
source Guide, a compilation
of community services and
resources available to resi-
dents of Plumas County, has
recently been revised by
Plumas Rural Services (PRS)
and is posted on the PRS

more than a yellow-page
listing. It includes fax num-
bers, e-mail addresses, web-
site addresses, physical and
mailing addresses, days/
hours of operation and a de-
tailed description of services
available. Everything from
child care to transportation
is listed.

date often so the information
available is always current
and accurate.
