The fire department advised the fire burned itseff out and the attic was checked. Medical Saturday, March 5 Sick: In Greenville, a caller requested an ambulance due to illness. The call was trans- ferred to South Lassen Emer- gency Medical Services. Arm: In Greenville, someone reported a 12-year-old male with a broken arm at the high school. The call was transferred to SLEMS and Indian Valley fire was paged. Dehydrated: In Greenville, a caller requested an ambu- lance for a female who was dehydrated. The call was transferred to SLEMS. Indian Valley and Crescent Mills fire were paged. Monday, March 7 Fall: In Greenville, someone reported falling and needing assistanCe. The call didn't Fall: In Crescent Mills, a caller requested an ambu- lance for her 99-year-old mother who fell. The call was transferred to SLEMS and Indian Valley fire was paged. Unknown malady: In Meadow Valley, a caller re- ported she was en route to the hospital with her daugh- ter and her vehicle broke down. The caller was request- ing an ambulance. Meadow Valley Fire Pr6tection Dis- trict and Plumas District Hospital were paged and re- sponded. Information was given to the California High- way Patrol and deputies. Tuesday, March 8 Fall: In Quincy, a caller requested an ambulance for a female fall victim. The call was transferred to PDH. An ambulance and Quincy fire were paged. Diabetic: In Graeagle, a caller requested an ambulance for his wife, who was having a diabetic problem: The call was transferred to Eastern Plumas Health Care. Graea- gle Fire Protection District, Whitehawk Ranch Volunteer Fire Department and Plumas Eureka Fire Department were paged and responded. Cardiac: In Chester, someone reported a mother was having chest pains. The call was transferred to Susanville Interagency Fire Center. Wednesday, March 9 Digestive: In Blairsden, some- one requested an ambulance Unknown malady: In Quincy, a caller advised someone at the bus stop needed medical attention. Quincy fire and PDH were paged and a sergeant was advised. Fall: In Greenville, someone reported an 83-year-old female fell, hit her head, and was bleeding. Indian Valley fire was paged, information was given to SIFC and an officer responded to assist. Airway: In Graeagle, some- one reported a female experi- ' encing difficulty breathing. The call was transferred to EPHC and Graeagle fire was dispatched. Thursday, March 10 Fall: In Greenville, someone requested an ambulance for his wife who fell and was having hip and back pain. The call was transferred to PDH. Quincy fire and an ambulance were paged and responding. Lumbar: In Greenville, some- one requested an ambulance for back pain: The call was transferred to SLEMS and Indian Valley fire was paged. Unknown malady: In Dellek- er, a caller requested an am- bulance. The call was trans- ferred to EPHC and Eastern Plumas Rural Fire Protection District was paged. Frank Neely Frank Neely, 23, died March 8, 2011, in Janesville. He was born to Lena and Fred Neely, on June 15, 1987 in Chester. The caller advised she checked her mail the night before and the box was there. She wanted the information on file. Monday, March 7 Spammed: In Greenville, a caller requested information on file thatsomeone damaged his mailbox. The caller didn't want contact with an officer, just the information on file, because so many others were damaged. Tuesday, March 8 Dang, now I need an alarm system to protect my guns from break-ins so they can protect me from break-ins: In Twain, a caller reported someone broke into the residence where he was care- taking. The reporting party indicated someone broke the back door and took some firearms. Thursday, March 10 Cats: In Portola, a caller reported a bobcat was in- side her residence, where she had two small children. The caller said the animal came in through the front door. Information was given to Fish and Game, which was unavailable. A housecat was removed from the residence and everything was fine. More cats: In Quincy, a caller reported his roommates were attacked by a feral cat. The caller said they were in the emergency room. Animal Control was contacted to retrieve the cat. CHP REPORT Failure to stop, March 4 On Friday, March 4, Richard Kittilson, 66, of Portola, was driving his 1983 Dodge pickup on Ladera Lane, approaching Delleker Road. Jamie Loom:s, 38, also of Portola, was driving a 1998 GMC Yukon eastbound on Delleker Road at approxi- mately 20 - 25 mph approach- ing Ladera Lane. Kittilson stopped at the stop sign at Delleker Road, but, according to California Highway Patrol, failed to see Loomis approaching from the right. Kittilson pulled out onto Delleker Road just as Loomis was passing and struck the left rear quarter of Loomis' vehicle. Neither Kittilson, Loom:s, nor Loomis' 8-year-old passenger was injured. Deer on road, March 5 On Saturday, March 5, at 4:45 p.m., a collision occurred on southbound U.S. 395 just north of Evans Canyon under- crossing involving a vehicle driven by Paul Sevcsik, 43, of Reno, and a deer. The weather was cloudy and cold but dry. Sevcsik and his passenger, Derek Cecil, also of Reno, were traveling in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala in the No. 2 lane at an undetermined speed. As Sevcsik crested a small rise in the highway, a deer entered the traffic lanes from the center median. The deer crossed the lanes while running in a westerly direc- tion and continued directly into the path of Sevcsik's vehicle. According to CHP, Sevcsik applied his brakes but was unable to avoid a collision as the right front of his vehicle's bumper struck the deer. Neither Sevcsi'k nor Cecil reported injuries. struck a paddle marker. Rodriguez tried to correct his vehicle by turning to the left but crossed both the east- bound and westbound lanes, traveling onto the north shoulder. He again tried to correct his vehicle by turning to the right to try and reenter the roadway. As his vehicle slid in the soft shoulder, the dirt and snow built up on the sides of his tires caused his vehicle to begin to overturn. His vehicle overturned two full times and came to rest on its wheels off the north shoulder. Rodriguez received minor injuries during the incident. Tailgating, March 10 On Thursday, March 10, at approximately 6.:20 p.m., Julie Duncan, 21, of Chico, was driving a 1996 Toyota Avalon westbound on High- waY 70, at an estimated speed of 40 mph. Jesse Ackley, 32, of Twain, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe directly in front of Duncan, and behind a white Cadillac-type vehicle. According to CHP, Duncan had been tailgating Ackley for several miles, at times so close that Ackley could not see Duncan's headlights. An animal (most likely a fox) suddenly ran out into the roadway from the north forested hillside. The animal was running across the roadway towards the south embankment leading to the North Fork Feather River between the white Cadillac- type vehicle and Ackley's vehicle. Ackley forcefully applied his brakes to avoid hitting the animal. Duncan saw Ackley's brake lights come on, but was following too close to avoid running into the back of Ackley's vehicle. Both drivers came to a stop on the north shoulder of Highway 70 just west of the collision location. Minor injuries were Rollover, March 7 On Monday, March 7, at 4:11 p.m., Leonard Rodriguez, 55, of Loyalton, was driving his 1993 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on Highway 49 east of Sierraville.
