attend the free cooking class
taught by Carol Franchetti,
chef and owner of Carol's
Caf6 and West Shore Dell at
Prattville, and Marsha Roby,
retired Chester high school
teacher.
Childcare will be provided
free of charge as wen.
Classes began in Greenville
Thursday, March 10, with
preparation of focaccia
bread, soup and strawberry
shortcake.
One session will be a sPe-
cial class for cooking with
children Saturday, April 9,
from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Children
are welcome to attend this
class. The sixth and final
class will be cooking for the
community supper Monday,
April 25. The remaining
Thursday classes will be
March 17, March 24 and
March 31, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The women are hosting
the class to help people build
confidence through cooking.
Cooking vocabulary and
meal planning lessons will
be secondary to the chance
to connect with each other
in a warm, friendly environ-
ment.

The Central Plumas Recre-
ation and Park District has
started its preseason plan-
ning and sign-ups for the
2011 adult softball season.
Scheduled practices will be-
gin Monday, April 11, and
will continue throughout
the month •of April.
Softball league games are
tentatively scheduled to
commence Monday, May 9.
Teams are currently being
formed during the pre-season
and practice period.
All games will be played
• on weekday evenings at
either Gansner Park or the
ball fields at Feather River
College.

divided into four divisions:
