The last time back-to-back-to-back weeks of single- digit activity was recorded happened be- tween December 2010 and January 2011 when six consecutive weeks were recorded. • At 11:04 a.m. Thursday, February 19, a M 2.1 earthquake occurred northwest of Quincy in the Feather River canyon near Twain. It was centered at a depth of about eight miles and passed without any felt reports. It was a lone shock. • A temblor registering M 1.5 on February 17 was detected southwest of Chester near Soldier Meadows. The quake occurred along the Soldier Mead- ews-8utt Lake Valley fault segments of the Lassen Peak-Almanor Fault Zone. In this area, the fault segments tend to curve, thus setting up a pull-apart effect that drops the valleys down and raises the surrounding bluffs. Spectacular "recent" offsets in the lava flows create bluffs that overlook the meadows. Wednesday, March 9 Mental Health Advisory Board, Noon. Call for loca- tion, 283-6307.
