Dirt is showing on Jeep Trail and on the south-facing, backside of the Turner Mountain Loop. Watch for hazards on Pear Lake Loop. Eagle Lake Ranger District The Swain Mountain Trails groomed up perfectly. Dirt patches exist along the Fre- donyer and Bogard Trail sys- tems. Overall conditions are variable; the trails are slush in the sun and extremely icy in the shade, so be cautious! Skiers: Please join the Lassen Lands and Trails Trust for their annual Butte Lake Ski Trip. This trip is for inter- mediate skiers. Meet at the Su- sanville Depot at 8:30 a.m. to carpool. After you are tired out, attend "Soup Night" at the Depot. For more information on this great day, please call the Lassen Lands and Trails Trust @ 530-257-3252. Hat Creek Ranger District The brisk mornings and sunny skies are perfect for riding. All of the Hat Creek trails are in pretty good shape, with no bare spots showing. Trails are icy in the morning and soft in the after- noon. There are several washouts on the Latour sys- tem. Most areas are signed, but please be cautious of run- ning water. The warmer temperatures are affecting lower Asphan the most. To conserve the snow, please avoid burnouts and cutting turns. Care for your trails and enjoy the ride. MVP Portola's Lindsey Compton was named the Most Valu- able Player in the Mid-Val- ley South League for the 2010 volleyball season. Teammates Ellie Kibble, Lucy Wilbanks and Emma Briggs earned all-league selections, and coach Matt Compt6n was named coach of the year.
