the Quincy Trojans with 21
points, including two 3-
pointers and five of seven
free throws.
Justin Lusk and Devonte
Smith each added nine
points on the evening.
Thematch began slowly,
as more than four minutes
ticked off the clock without
a basket, until Quincy se-
nior Zack Vaughn finally
opened the scoring and drew
a foul to give Quincy a 3-0
lead.
Vaughn finished the game
a perfect 3-for-3 from the
free-throw line.
Hamilton quickly an-
swered back and outscored
Quincy by three baskets to
take a 10-7 lead, but then
Quincy turned things back
around to take a 13-12 lead
by the end of the first quar-
ter.
Hamilton briefly recap-
tured the lead by opening
the second period with a 3-
pointer, but then Quincy ran
the next nine points, capped
by a 3-pointer by 'Johnson,
which forced Hamilton to
call a timeout.
The stoppage helped
Hamilton cool Quincy's mo-
mentum and the Braves got
back to within two points,
but then Quincy ran another
seven straight points to take
a 30-21 lead-at halftime.
Lusk opened the Second
half with a quick 3-pointer,
but then both teams fell into
more of a defensive posture,

gan, Hamilton notched it up
on offense and hit a couple 3-
pointers, cutting the Tro-
jan's lead from 13 points to
five points midway through
the .quarter.
Not wanting to leave the
door open for Hamilton, the
Quincy Trojans stepped it
up down the stretch, scoring
three consecutive baskets.
This forced Hamilton to
begin fouling for possession,
arid Quincy came away with
a 53-46 win.
Smith led Quincy with
seven rebounds, while John-
son and Lusk each grabbed
five and Ethan Skemp cap-
tured four.

While leaving it to their
teammates to score th ma-
jority of the points, Lusk
and Johnson were busy on
the boards, leading the Tro-
jans with eight rebounds
and seven rebounds, respec-
tively.
Consequently, Lusk and
Johnson combined for 11 as-
sists.
