INJURIES ARE FATAL
TO OLIVER M. BURT
Oliver Milton Burt, employee of
the Southern Pacific at Gerber for
31 years, died in a San Francisco
hospital January 23.
Death was the result of injuries
received when he fell on a flight of
stairs at his Gerber home Jan. 5.
He spent several days in the hos-
pital here, and five days ago, when
his condition became critical, was
taken to the Southern Pacific hos-
pital in San Francisco.
Burt was born August 16, 1886
in Kansas and has been employea
in various railroads since 1902. ]n
recent years he was a switchman
at the Gerber yards.
He was a member of the Red
Bluff Aerie of Eagles and of the
Brotherhood of Railroad Train-
men,
Burr is survived by his wife Jau- ]
nita of Gerber, two sons, Harold, [
of Sacramento, and Milton Hurt, [
and a daughter, Mrs, Harry C. [
Hendricks; a brother, Fred H. I
Burt, all of Sacramento: a brother i

was just home from the Korean
area and expected to make an al-
most immediate return. His ship
is engaged in carrying supplies to
that theater of operations, and he
says conditions there are plenty

Sally Purcell of Crescent Mills is

auto accident Tuesday, near Lin-

driving was struck broadside by
another vehicle at an intersection.
