The Quincy and Portola
High School ski teams had
their first race of the season
Monday, Jan. 3, when they
competed in Giant Slalom at
Northstar.
In the men's division,,
Luis Rubalcava-Cunan fol-
lowed, registering a 2:18.14 to
secure the 15th position for
the Quincy Trojans.
Additional local racers in-
cluded Quincy's Daniel Hay-
good in 28th place at 2:31.66,
Portola's Tyler Stockdale in
30th at 2:32.88 and Quincy's
Dante Knowles in 32rid at
more than 50 skiers raced. 2:34.08.
Quincy and Portola earned
five of the top 15 positions.
Garrett Hagwood was the
fastest local racer of the day,
taking sixth place overall for
Quincy with a combined
time of 2 minutes, 11.27 sec-
ond~.
Portola's Tyler Atkins was
next, clocking a combined
time of 2:13.12 for eighth
place.
Quincy's Henry Dilling-
ham and Koby Barker took
10th and llth, respectively,
with exactly 1.5 seconds sep-
arating their combined
times. Dillingham came in at
2:14.31 and Barker finished
at 2:15.81.
Quincy's Danny Ryback
and Brian Wood each put
two runs together to finish
39th and 41st, respectively.
In the women's division,
Quincy had three racers
compete in a field of 38.
Alexis DeCoe placed ninth
overall with a combined
time of 2:17.85. Mariah Hop-
kins took 26th at 2:35.90, and
Alienor Delany finished
32rid at 2:50.79.
The Quincy and Portola
ski teams competed at
Alpine Meadows last Mon-
day, Jan. 10, in their first
slalom race of the season.
