Mr. and Mrs. Red Logan, Ron-
nee and Bill Fisher returned Sat-
urday from their trip to Texas.
They said they had a very nice
trip but were happy to get home.
While in Fort Worth they tele-
phoned Mr. and Mrs. Jake DeHahn !
who are in Annona, Texas. !
Jack Richmond was a weekend
visitor.
Mr. and Mrs. Tim Stampfli and
Frank returned from a vacation in
Susanville Saturday. Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Stampfli brought them
home. While here they visited Mr.
and Mrs. Gus Knoll.
Clyde Stockton visited Mr. and
Mrs. Elmer Lewis Monday.
John Wallace was visiting
friends here Monday.

ill for some time. She is survived

B. Eike besides her husband, Mr.
Gust Johnson of Crescent.
Mr. Gallup of Quincy was a
business visitor here Tuesday.
Ir. ald Mrs. Bill Baker went
over to Quincy on Monday to shop.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Milton were
over to Quincy Monday. The}" went
to see Lily McRorie who is very
ill.
Mrs. Pete Viacava of Taylors-
ville pent Sunday visiting Mr.
and Mrs. P. C. Nye while Mr.
Viacava went to Redding on busi-
ness. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nye and
Sharon joined them for a chinese
dinner in the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Baty of
Meadow Villey visited her sister
and family. Mr. and Mrs. John
Davis.

We have been subscribers to the
I. V. R. for almost 10 years now
and have enjoyed it a great deal,
especially when we were away
from Indian Valley and today we
head in your paper where the Citi-
zens Utilities Co. was going to
spend some money to improve the
phone service in their territory.
That I was glad to see, if it £s true,
but the thing I don't like is that
they want to raise the charge for
so-called service before they even
give us service. We have paid
good big price for the privilege
of having one of their boxe with
a crank on it hang in our house
for several years now, rost of the
time you can get a cad through
from 8 a. m. to 8 p. m. {Sundays
and holid/Lys excepted) but if any
farther away thanyou could hear
one yell. you couldn't, hear the
party you were talking to and
for the most part it was much
more satisfactory and usually
quicker to drive to Reno. Quincy,
Sacramento cr wherever it might
be, than to try to phone We of
course want to pay for what we

At this time a written Petition
is presented to the Board for the
extention of the Greenville Light-
ing District, same signed by 17
qualified free-holders.
Motion is made by Supervisor
Donnenwirth, seconded :by Super-
visor Flanagan, that said petition
be accepted by this Board and
that date of hearing same be set
for January 29, 1951 at 10:00
A:M.; that notice be published in
the Indian Valley Record in the
manner and for the time required
by law.

of $12,000.00 that same was to be
in the sums of $600.00 as and
for each of said Offices. Carried

for Directors (3) of the Clio Public
Utility District was duly held on
the 29h day of December, 1950
and it further appearing that all
Absentee Ballots requested at
such election have been returned
to the Clerk of this County and
are accounted for by said Clerk

con and children Barbara Gayel

went to Standish Saturday to
spend until Sunda: with Mrs. 2v1¢
Cutcheon's parents, the Los Mc-
Colm's and daughter Jane.
Pearce Wilson, who is working
in the bay area spent the week-
end here with his wife and daugh-
ter Sarah.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morley and
Cindy Borg visited Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taresh.
Bob Cooke and son Eddie Crum
and friend of Reno spent the week-
end with Bob's mother, Mrs. Timey
Cooke.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rc*ssi and
children Jackie and Larry return-
ed home after spending a few
days with her relatives in Yuba
City. The Elementary school open-
ed here on, Monday after two
weeks vacation.
Word has been received here
that Gilbert Goodhue passed away
and. funeral services and bura
were held in Live Oak. He was
the father of Ben Goodhue of In.
dian Falls and a brother of Joe
Goodhue of Gennessee.
Tom Haskins came up Sunday
to get his wife Ida and take her
to Grass Valley to spend several
days. They left on Monday.
Installation of officers was held
Thureday nght at the Rebekah
lodge with Mrs. Mary Dunn, Dis-
trict Deputy President of Quincy
attending. Twenty-six other people
from Quincy were also present.
Jack King who left here to go to
N. Y. on a months visit went up
into Ontario, Canada to spend a
few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burns have
returned to their home after
spending the holidays in lower Cal-
ifornia with their daughter.
Mrs. ,Ann Gates and children,
Dickie and Kaye were dinner
guests Monday in Greenville of her
sister, Mrs. Don Rhoades and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Powers
of Yuba City were recent visitors
at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. John
L Hardgrave and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil
L Stephenson.
Frank Pratt has returned to his
Gennessee home after spending the
holidays with his nephew, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Lindsay in Reno.
Mrs. Cecil Stephenson returned
home on Sunday after spending
three days in Sacramento with. Mr.
and Mrs. A1 Maunder.
Nile Pierce came up from Chico
Sunday to spent the day with Mr.
and Mrs. Vinton Pierce and fam-
ily,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hooks and
son of Susanville visited her
mother, Mrs. Walter Beaumont
and family on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Johnson who
are the proud owners of a new
Studebaker truck, spent one day
last week in Chico.
Miss June LeRoy spent Wed-
nesday night in Crescent Mills as
the guest of Sheryl and Sonny
Sorsoli.
Mrs. Wm." Lewis left Thursday
for her home in Sacramento after
spending a week here with her
daughter Mrs. Betty Paulsen, Carl
and 5an.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dolphin have
been ill with colds.

Roberta have returned home after
spending the holidays in Sanoma
