2C Wednesday, June 20, 2012 Bulletin, Record, Progressive, Reporter New trail map available Topographic map highlights singletrack The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship group has pro- duced a topographic trail map highlighting the var- ied terrain and world-class trails of the Downieville and Lakes Basin trail sys- tems. The guide is the most up-to-date and informative recreational resource for the area, zeroing in on Plumas and Sierra counties and Plumas and Tahoe na- tional forests, and featur- ing more than 100 miles of Sierra singletrack. It shows designations for motorized trails, non-mo- torized trails, the Pacific Crest Trail, historic trail alignments and Forest Ser- vice four-wheel drive dirt roads. It is printed on water- proof and tear-resistant pa- per, ensuring the map will survive whatever epic ad- venture enthusiasts em- bark on. Net proceeds from map sales benefit the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship trail maintenance program, and it offers one more way that SBTS can help sustain and enhance trails for gen- erations. The map cost is $15. To order online, visit sierra- trails.org/downieville_lake sbasin_trailguide: To pick one up in person, visit Yuba Expeditions in Down- ieville, Gray Eagle Lodge in Lakes Basin, Eco-Centric in Graeagle, Graeagle Market in Graeagle, Patagonia Out- let tore in Reno, Olympic Bike Shop in Tahoe City or Alpenglow Sports in Tahoe City. The new trail guide produced by Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship is waterproof and tear resistant.
