Have you wanted to know where they stand with a specific plan towards development and sustainability? We11, now's your chance to hear from them. Indian Valley Academy's government and economics class, taught by Ryan Schramel, will play host to a candidates' debate on Thursday evening, May 26, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Indian Valley Elementary School cafeteria. The event is open to the community. Incumbent Kevin Goss and candidate Mina Admire will respond to questions developed by the government economics class. The class also placed questionnaires at Plumas Bank and Evergreen Market so that the public could take them, fill them out and return them to either location. The students will collect the questionnaires and incorporate the issues raised into the questions they pose to the candidates. The May 26 event is the last public opportunity Indian Valley (and all of district 2) residents have before the June 7 election to hear directly from the candidates. This election is mail-in only. The last day to register to,vote is May 23. Ballots must be postmarked by June 7 or turned in at the courthouse in Quincy by June 7. Mail-in ballots were sent out on May 9. Registered voters who have not received a ballot in the mail by May 18 can contact the voter registration office in Quincy.
