Photos by Maddie Musante James Wilson , Sports Editor It's been a tough year for both Feather River College basketball teams thus far. Both teams faced Lassen and Siskiyous last week and the college came out with one win and three losses The FRC men's team traveled to Lassen College on Jan. 15 and fell 100-92. On Saturday, Jan. 18, the Eagles hosted College of the Siskiyous and once again lost the game within 10 points, with a final score of 93-83. The losses dropped FRC's record to 4-14 overall and i-3 in conference play. The women's team did a little better, beating Lassen 66-56, but fell last Saturday to Siskiyous 62-52. The FRC women's team has a slightly better overall record than the men's at 5-13, but it is also 1-3 in conference. ., A highlight of the week for the men's team was the top-notch performance by Maurice Johnson against Lassen. Johnson scored 29 points, including four three-pointers. Reuben Nwondo similarly did well with 17 points and DeCari Lide made 13 points. Amy Yeager was once again the high scorer for the women's team in the win against Lassen. Yeager, known for her long shot, made three three:pointers, which contributed to her total of 19 points. Summer Dressier scored 11 points and went eight for eight from the free-throw line. "I think we turned the corner defensively the past two games," commented women's coach Haley White.
